Welcome my friends to the show that never ends...King of Diamonds Baseball, version 17. After a month long hiatus from action (no puns intended) our 28 team loop is set to start up again. The official start of play is July 1st, but the first file came out early and plenty of games have already been played.
Plenty of our regulars are returning to for our 17th season. We've added two new members (the lowest number since we started) to the fold. Stephen Lee will pilot the 1927 Philadelphia A's and Peter Winske will guide the 1964 Baltimore Orioles.
Unlike Olympic sports, where they give out a bronze medal, or cycling where you get a podium spot, MLB awards nothing for a team that finishes in 3rd and has a fantastic season (until they added the 2nd WC). Many great teams, especially in the pre-divisional era, missed out on post season glory even though they won 90+ games. This KOD will crown one of these forgotten teams champ.
