Sitting atop the division with a 1 game lead the Reds could not officially clinch the division until this August 8th rain out was made up. Milwaukee not only needed to win the game, but they needed to outscore the Reds by 2 in order to win the divisional tie breaker. It took the great Warren Spahn 11 innings of 5 hit ball to win the game. Spahn, who threw all 11 innings on 136 pitches finished the season 10-2 (2.36) and is KOD's first official double digit winner ever. Unfortunately the Brew Crew could not score enough runs to win the tie breaker, but they do comfortably clinch the #1 wild card seed.
